On a tragic Mother's Day in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 25-year-old Jerome Gilkey was cut short by gunfire. The African American male was at a home on Boxtown Road in the southwest part of the city on May 9, 2021, offering comfort to his friend's mother who was grieving the recent loss of her own child.
