In the early morning hours of December 22, 2017, a tragic event unfolded in the Fairgrounds neighborhood of North St. Louis that claimed the lives of three young women, including 25-year-old Reeba Moore. The African-American woman and her friends, Dominique Lewis and Chanice White, both 24, were victims of a fatal shooting that stemmed from a home invasion. The incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m.
in the 4200 block of John Avenue.
As gunmen broke into the residence, Moore, Lewis, and White, along with a man, attempted to flee the terrifying scene. The three women sought refuge in Moore's blue Buick LeSabre, but their escape was tragically cut short when the assailants opened fire on the vehicle. The attackers used different caliber firearms, and all three women were fatally shot inside the car. The man who was with them managed to escape the ambush.
In the years following the brutal slayings, the case has remained unsolved, leaving the families of Reeba Moore, Dominique Lewis, and Chanice White in a prolonged state of grief and without closure. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has continued to investigate the triple homicide, and CrimeStoppers has offered a substantial reward for any information that leads to the arrest of those responsible. The families have made public appeals for justice, expressing the profound and lasting pain of their loss, particularly around the holiday season, which has been forever marred by the memory of the violent deaths of their loved ones. As of late 2022, no arrests have been made, and the police are still seeking new leads to bring the perpetrators to justice.
