On May 3, 2023, 56-year-old La’Tatia Stewart was fatally shot in the parking garage of the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Stewart, a banquet server at the hotel for over 20 years, was discovered behind her vehicle with gunshot wounds to her chest and side; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
