On a late Thursday evening in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of Antoine Dashawn Hayes, a 26-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. On July 1, 2021, gunshots echoed through the Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road in East Nashville. Responding to a call just before 9:30 p.m., Metro Nashville Police officers discovered Hayes critically wounded in an apartment breezeway, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest.
