On a Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2021, the sound of multiple gunshots shattered the quiet of the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue in Clarksville, Tennessee. When Clarksville Police officers arrived at the scene around 4:43 p.m., they discovered a tragic scene. A blue Jeep Renegade had come to a stop in the front yard of a residence, its body riddled with bullet holes.
Inside the vehicle, slumped over in the driver's seat, was 20-year-old Costa Lakeif Linsey, a Black male, suffering from
multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services rushed him to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville. From there, he was airlifted by LifeFlight to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville due to the severity of his injuries. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Costa Linsey succumbed to his injuries the following day, Monday, November 22, 2021.
The Clarksville Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into Linsey's death, which remains ongoing. Detectives believe the suspect or suspects were in a loud, dark gray Dodge Charger. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no specific suspects have been publicly identified. The case is listed as open by Clarksville Crime Stoppers. Authorities have continued to appeal to the public for any information regarding the shooting or the suspect vehicle, hoping to bring justice for Costa Linsey and his family.
