In the early morning hours of a December weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee, the life of Galven Jamor Siler, a 29-year-old African American male, was irrevocably altered. On December 18, 2021, after an evening spent with friends in the Old City, Siler and his companions went to an after-hours gathering at 3 Kingz Tattoos located at 1425 Magnolia Avenue. The night took a tragic turn shortly after 3 a.m. as they were leaving the establishment.
An argument broke out in the parking lot, creating a tense atmosphere that would soon escalate to violence.
As the dispute unfolded, a vehicle approached, and shots were fired from within, striking Siler. Knoxville Police Officers responded to the scene and found him on the ground with a gunshot wound to his back. He was immediately transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he began a desperate fight for his life. For several days, Siler clung to life, but his injuries proved too severe. On January 7, 2022, he succumbed to the wounds he sustained in the parking lot shooting.
The death of Galven Siler, a father of two, left his family, including his mother and siblings, grieving a profound loss.
