In the early hours of a Monday morning in Knoxville, Tennessee, the quiet was broken by the discovery of a man's body near the railroad tracks in the 200 block of Humes Street. It was March 7, 2022, and the man, later identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Paul, had been fatally shot. Knoxville Police Department officers were called to the area of East Jackson Avenue and Morgan Street around 1:20 a.m. after a report of a gunshot victim.
