On the night of May 19, 2009, Charles Austin Corn, a 23-year-old white male and University of Tennessee student from Hendersonville, Tennessee, was shot multiple times during a home invasion at his apartment in the Woodlands Townhouses complex on Spruce Ridge Way in South Knoxville. He succumbed to his injuries five days later, on May 24, 2009.
