Lemuel Caldwell Appling, a 41-year-old man from Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on October 28, 2020, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was fatally shot in the 2900 block of Hillside Avenue after being involved in a verbal altercation. Lemuel was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding officers.
