On April 10, 2022, 28-year-old Tarrance Martin was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Somatel Nashville Airport Hotel. The incident occurred around 11:55 p.m. when Martin backed his car into a parking spot and got into an argument with the driver of a silver SUV. The driver of the SUV pulled out a gun and fired several shots at Martin before fleeing the scene. Martin was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
