In the spring of 2022, a dispute in a Nashville hotel parking lot escalated into a fatal act of violence, claiming the life of 28-year-old Tarrance Martin. On the evening of Sunday, April 10th, Martin had reversed his vehicle into a parking space at the Somatel Nashville Airport Hotel located at 420 Metroplex Drive. His car was then intentionally blocked by a silver SUV, and an argument broke out between Martin and the driver of the other vehicle.
The confrontation quickly turned deadly
when the driver of the SUV retrieved a firearm and shot Martin multiple times. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. Emergency services were called, and Martin was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department began an investigation and announced they were pursuing promising leads in the case. The suspected shooter was described by authorities as a white male with short hair and a full beard, who was wearing a black t-shirt and black pants at the time of the incident. Law enforcement has encouraged anyone with information regarding the murder of Tarrance Martin to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation. Publicly available information has not yet indicated that an arrest has been made in connection with this case.
