In the early evening of May 18, 2022, a sense of normalcy in a Dyersburg, Tennessee shopping center parking lot was shattered by gunfire. When police arrived at the Mall Boulevard location around 7:19 p.m., they discovered 43-year-old Jimmy Lee Burns suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Burns was pronounced dead at the scene.
