On July 10, 2022, the body of Terry Carmell Beard, a 49-year-old Black male from Milan, Tennessee, was discovered lying on the side of the road in McKenzie, Tennessee. An investigation by the Weakley County Sheriff's Office determined that Beard had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene near Bells Store and Patterson Roads.
