George French Brown, aged 52, was a Constable in Masontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. On November 4, 1908, he succumbed to severe infections caused by a gunshot wound. The fatal injury occurred four days earlier when Brown attempted to serve a warrant. During the confrontation, Clarence Rice, the individual Brown was attempting to arrest, resisted and shot him.
