Patrolman James Farrell, age 32, of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, tragically died on November 23, 1908. Farrell was accidentally killed by a fellow officer who mistook him for a robber on Melrose Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. Farrell had served with the Pittsburgh Police Department for just over a year.
