Alice Mazzillo, a 47-year-old woman of Italian-American ethnicity, tragically lost her life on September 25, 1982, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She was one of thirteen victims of a horrific mass shooting spree carried out by George Emil Banks, a former prison guard. The rampage began at Banks' home on Schoolhouse Lane, where he killed eight people, including three women in their 20s and five children, four of whom were his own.
