On March 27, 1985, 26-year-old Patrolman Ronald Jeffery Turek of the Blair Township Police Department in Pennsylvania was fatally shot while responding to a domestic dispute on Swinging Bridge Road. Patrolman Turek was attempting to prevent a suspect from entering a house where it was known the suspect had several weapons.
