Walt Smith, a 24-year-old male from Glenolden, PA, tragically died on March 16, 1993. His death was the result of a heated argument over a shoveled parking spot. Smith, a former police officer, confronted his neighbor, Gavin McCloskey, who had parked in the spot Smith had cleared. The confrontation escalated when McCloskey answered the door with a gun, and after a brief exchange, he shot Smith in the chest with a lead ball from an old-fashioned handgun.
