In the summer of 2024, a 25-year-old Black man named Cashmere Brown was fatally shot in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The incident took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at approximately 1:50 p.m. on the 1400 block of North 54th Street. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Brown succumbed to his injuries there.
Following the shooting, the Philadelphia Police Department opened a homicide investigation.
Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and have offered a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
