On February 8, 1992, Patrolman Michael D. Love, aged 28, of the Rochester Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania, was tragically shot and killed while attempting to intervene in a murder. Patrolman Love was off duty at the time, patronizing a restaurant at 523 Virginia Avenue when a man who had been stalking his estranged wife entered the establishment and fatally shot her.
