Barbara Ann Hazelton Dilger, a 69-year-old woman, died in her Matamoras, Pennsylvania, home on Wednesday, October 3, 2007. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a retired social worker for The Hope Center in Port Jervis. Her life was tragically cut short by an act of gun violence.

Following the incident, her husband, William H. Dilger, who was 71 at the time, was charged in connection with her death. The investigation led to his subsequent arrest and legal proceedings.
