Derek Kotecki, a 40-year-old male police officer from Lower Burrell, PA, was tragically killed in the line of duty on October 12, 2011. He was a dedicated officer with the Lower Burrell Police Department, having served for 18 years. Kotecki was known for his commitment to his job and his K-9 partner, Odin.
