Malik Dajuan Carter, a 29-year-old Black/African American male, was killed on the night of June 23, 2014, in West Philadelphia. The shooting happened near Market and Salford Streets, on the same block where Carter lived. According to police reporting at the time, Carter was shot multiple times at about 9:32 p.m., but he was still able to reach out for help in the moments after the attack.
