On a cold December morning in 2014, the body of 22-year-old William Jackson-Bosley, a Black male from the Pittsburgh area, was discovered lying on the side of Taft Avenue in the city's Beltzhoover neighborhood. It was just after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13th, when authorities were called to the scene. Emergency responders found that Jackson-Bosley had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his neck and was pronounced dead at the location.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office later confirmed that the cause of death was gunshot wounds to the head and neck, and the case was officially ruled a homicide. In the immediate aftermath of the discovery, Pittsburgh police began their investigation into the killing of the young man, who was a resident of Swissvale and also had ties to the Homewood neighborhood.
As part of their initial investigation, law enforcement officials announced that they were searching for a specific vehicle of interest: a black Chrysler PT Cruiser with a Pennsylvania license plate JPS-4417. They appealed to the public for any information regarding the vehicle or the circumstances surrounding Jackson-Bosley's death. However, despite the public plea and ongoing investigation, no arrests have been announced in the case. The investigation into the death of William Jackson-Bosley remains ongoing, and as of early 2015, no suspects had been publicly identified or charged with his murder.
