A woman is found strangled eight days after she is last seen. In the autumn of 1995, a chilling discovery in a wooded area of Grand Rapids, Michigan, deepened the growing fear that a predator was targeting women in the community. On October 12, the body of 39-year-old Gale Annette Cook, a White female, was found. An autopsy would later reveal that she had been strangled with a ligature, her life taken in a brutal act of violence. Cook had been last seen alive eight days earlier, on October 4, near the intersection of Front Avenue SW and Wealthy Street SW.
