In a quiet Mesa, Arizona home near Loop 101 and Baseline Road, a grim discovery was made on the evening of July 29, 2025. Angela Ciura, a 60-year-old woman, was found deceased from a gunshot wound. Alongside her was her 55-year-old ex-husband, Robert Braun, who was also dead from a gunshot wound.
The scene was discovered by a family member who had arrived at the residence shortly before 5:30 p.m. and immediately contacted the authorities, initially reporting a suicide.
Mesa police officers responded to the call and found both Ciura and Braun inside the home. Investigators quickly learned that the two were divorced and began treating the case as a possible murder-suicide.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have indicated that the final determination of the cause and manner of death will depend on forensic evidence and the findings of the Office of the Medical Examiner. At this time, it is believed that Braun’s wound may have been self-inflicted after he shot Ciura. As the primary suspect in Ciura's death is also deceased, no arrests have been made.
