On September 25, 2015, 20-year-old Black male Javon Thornton from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of Westmoreland and Milligan Avenues in Swissvale. Emergency responders transported him to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The circumstances leading to the shooting were not detailed in the available reports.
