In the late hours of a Saturday in November, a community in a suburb of Pittsburgh was shaken by a violent act that ended a life. On November 27, 2021, Theodore D. 'Teddy' Parks Jr., a 38-year-old Caucasian male from Bellevue, was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 100 block of California Avenue in Avalon shortly before 10:30 p.m. First responders arrived at the scene to find Parks with a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting led to the immediate apprehension of a suspect at the scene. Brennan Lamar Fife, a 31-year-old man from Avalon, was arrested in connection with Parks's death. The Allegheny County Police charged Fife with criminal homicide, and he was subsequently placed in the Allegheny County Jail. At the time of his arrest for the homicide, court documents indicated that Fife was also awaiting a non-jury trial for separate charges of strangulation, simple assault, and harassment stemming from an incident that had occurred earlier that year in June.
Theodore Parks, known affectionately as 'Teddy' to his friends and family, was a beloved son, brother, and father. His sudden death left behind his son, Preston, his parents, and his siblings, who remembered him as a cherished member of their family. A memorial visitation and service were held in the days following his death to honor his memory.
