In the early hours of June 2, 2017, the life of 48-year-old Dedric Ellis, a Black male from Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, was tragically cut short. Ellis was discovered critically wounded inside his overturned SUV on McClure Avenue in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood around 12:15 a.m. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the trunk and was rushed to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office subsequently ruled ...
