On the evening of February 8, 2022, tragedy struck in the East Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Inside a home on Wilner Drive, 30-year-old Jerelle Jeffries, a male resident of Pittsburgh, was found on the first floor, having been shot. Emergency services were called to the scene around 7 p.m., but upon their arrival, paramedics pronounced him dead.

Then, in early March, a breakthrough was made in the case. U.S. Marshals and Pittsburgh police located and arrested 27-year-old Tyreace Platt for his alleged involvement in the death of Jeffries.
