Carlos Javier Gavilanes, aged 33, tragically lost his life on July 26, 2013, in Hialeah, Florida. He was one of the six victims in a horrific shooting rampage that took place at an apartment complex. Gavilanes was returning home from his son's boxing practice when he was fatally shot by Pedro Vargas, a 42-year-old resident of the same complex.
