Vanderlee Stevenson, a 32-year-old resident of East Liberty, Pittsburgh, was fatally shot on August 24, 2008. Police were dispatched to the 5600 block of Wellesley Avenue in Highland Park shortly after midnight, responding to a 911 call reporting an intruder in an apartment. Upon arrival, officers discovered Stevenson lying on the kitchen floor with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at 12:48 a.m.
