Saleem West, a 16-year-old African American male from Philadelphia, PA, tragically lost his life on November 1, 2015. He was riding his bicycle with a friend in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood when he was fatally shot. A total of 17 bullets were fired, and Saleem was struck once in the back, suffering a fatal injury to his aorta. His friend managed to escape unharmed.
