On a Monday afternoon, November 23, 2015, the life of 19-year-old Jamer Jackson was tragically cut short in his own neighborhood. At approximately 4:00 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers were called to the 4200 block of North Hicks Street, where they discovered the young man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. In a valiant effort to save his life, the officers transported him in their patrol vehicle to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced
dead later that afternoon.
Jamer, a resident of North Hicks Street, was a young man who was deeply loved by his family and his Nicetown community. Described as a loving, happy, and busy child, he was known for keeping his mother on her toes. He became a single father at the age of 15 and rose to the occasion, maturing into a responsible man who impressed those around him. He was a graduate of Youth Build, where he excelled and received over six awards. His ambition was further demonstrated through two internships at Temple University's Engineering Department and EMFMG. His family remembers him as a good young man, a dedicated father, a beloved son, and a brother.
The Philadelphia Police Department continues to investigate the homicide of Jamer Jackson. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains an open and active investigation, with law enforcement appealing to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in solving this tragic murder. A reward is available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Jamer Jackson's death.
