Xavier Stern, a 15-year-old from Philadelphia, was tragically killed on December 11, 2015. He was discovered in the back seat of a 1998 Lincoln Town Car parked on North Park Avenue in North Philadelphia. When officers responded at approximately 7:20 p.m., they found Stern had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after arrival.
Stern, who lived in Upper Darby, had been reported missing just one day earlier by his family, who last saw him at home on November 22. His death was a significant blow to the community, where he was remembered as a bright, humble young man who enjoyed playing football for the Overbrook Monarchs. The absence of ballistic evidence and lack of a weapon at the scene complicated the investigation, with the Philadelphia Police urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this heartbreaking case.
