On June 29, 2016, 13-year-old Christopher "Chris" Mackey tragically died in Philadelphia, PA, after being accidentally shot in the face by a friend while playing with a gun. Chris Mackey, a young boy from the Germantown area, was playing with several friends when they found a loaded gun in an abandoned house. Thinking the gun was jammed, a 15-year-old boy pulled the trigger, and the weapon discharged, hitting Chris in the mouth and causing fatal injuries.
