On Halloween night in 2016, a quiet street in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, became the scene of a tragic and violent crime that claimed two lives. Shane Wright, a 25-year-old male, was shot and killed inside his Poplar Street home during a home invasion. His 50-year-old mother, Kristine Kibler, was also murdered during the incident. The events of that evening unfolded after family members had returned from a night of trick-or-treating with their children, who were present in the home but were not physically harmed.

The motive behind the brutal slayings was a planned robbery targeting Shane Wright for drugs and money. The investigation into the double homicide led police to three individuals: Joseph Sentore Coleman Jr., Jordan Rawls, and Casey Nathaniel Wilson. According to investigators, the plan was orchestrated for Wilson to drive Coleman and Rawls to the residence to commit the robbery. Wilson, who was a longtime friend of Wright's, allegedly entered the house first to determine the location of the occupants before Coleman and Rawls, both armed, went inside. Shane Wright was shot on the first floor of the home, while his mother was shot on the second floor. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene, and his mother died after being transported to a nearby medical center.

The ensuing legal process brought the three men to justice for their roles in the crime. Casey Nathaniel Wilson, the driver, ultimately cooperated with prosecutors and testified against the other two men. He pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, robbery, and other charges, and was sentenced to 23 to 50 years in state prison. Joseph Sentore Coleman Jr., one of the men who entered the home, was found guilty of second-degree murder and robbery. Despite not being the individual who directly killed the victims, he was charged under strict liability for the homicides due to his participation in the robbery. He received two consecutive life sentences. Jordan Rawls, the other alleged gunman, also faced charges including homicide and robbery, and was scheduled for trial for his role in the deaths of Wright and Kibler.
