On the evening of April 3, 2017, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ronald Fenwick, a 32-year-old Black male, was standing with a group of other men on the 1100 block of Stiles Street. Suddenly, two unidentified individuals approached the group and opened fire, unleashing a total of 25 rounds into the crowd. The brazen attack left a scene of chaos and bloodshed.
Fenwick was struck by gunfire in the head and body.
He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The shooting claimed the lives of two other young men as well: 27-year-old Marcello Robertson and 20-year-old Tyair Jabbar. A fourth man, who was 26 years old at the time, was shot in the stomach but ultimately survived his injuries and was listed in stable condition at the hospital.
The Philadelphia Police Department launched an immediate and intensive investigation into the triple homicide. Despite their efforts and a substantial $70,000 reward being offered for any information that could lead to an arrest and conviction, the case has grown cold. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murders of Ronald Fenwick, Marcello Robertson, and Tyair Jabbar. The case remains an open and unsolved tragedy, leaving their families and the community still searching for answers and justice for the lives that were so violently cut short that spring evening.
