Michael Kirkpatrick, a 31-year-old White/Caucasian male from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was killed on January 26, 2000, after an everyday winter chore reportedly turned into a fatal confrontation in southwest Philadelphia. The dispute began behind a row house, where a neighbor, Louis Mockewich, was shoveling snow and piling it near a Ford pickup truck owned by Kirkpatrick. What started as a complaint over where the snow was being placed quickly escalated into an argument.
