In the early morning hours of May 1, 2010, the life of 30-year-old Donald Lamar Robinson, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence outside a Coney Island restaurant on Livernois Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. The incident unfolded at approximately 3:30 a.m. as Robinson was getting out of a friend's vehicle. He was suddenly confronted by an unknown Black male who was armed with a handgun.
