On a tragic Saturday evening in June of 2017, the life of 25-year-old Emily Anne Fatzinger was cut short in what authorities would later describe as a murder-suicide in Upper Saucon Township, near Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. The events of June 24th unfolded into a grim scene that ended a domestic dispute with a final, violent act.
Authorities were called to the scene, and what followed was a standoff that ultimately revealed the devastating outcome. Inside the residence, law enforcement discovered the bodies of Fatzinger and a man. The investigation led authorities to believe that the man had killed Fatzinger before taking his own life.
Emily, a former resident of Palmerton and a 2010 graduate of Palmerton High School, was a mother to a daughter and a son. At the time of her death, she was working as an in-home caregiver. Her sudden and violent death left her family and community in shock and mourning. There were no further arrests as the sole suspect was also deceased at the scene.
