Guillermo Rivera-Rubio, a 44-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on February 26, 2018, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He was fatally shot in the head during a cocaine transaction in the 700 block of Chain Street. Rivera-Rubio was found inside a blue Dodge Neon alongside another victim, Isaias Martinez, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Rivera-Rubio was transported to Einstein Hospital but later pronounced dead.
The investigation into Rivera-Rubio's death led to the arrest of Miguel Mino-Rojas, a 20-year-old resident of Norristown. Mino-Rojas was charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, Person Not to Possess a Firearm, and related charges. The murders were ruled a homicide, and the investigation revealed that the victims were killed with a .45 caliber revolver, which was recovered from Mino-Rojas.
Mino-Rojas was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Gregory Scott, and bail was denied. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 14, 2018, and the case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Thomas W. McGoldrick and Assistant District Attorney Timothy Collier. The investigation was a joint effort by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and the Norristown Police Department.
The tragic incident highlighted the dangers associated with drug transactions and the impact of such crimes on the community. The legal proceedings against Mino-Rojas continued as authorities sought justice for Rivera-Rubio and Martinez.
