On July 11, 2010, authorities in Detroit, Michigan, were called to a residence on the city’s west side following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, located at 9649 Evergreen Street, police discovered the body of 34-year-old Antwan Jones. The African American male had sustained fatal injuries, and law enforcement officials immediately launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
