Ghada Saleb, a 48-year-old woman from Mountville, PA, tragically lost her life on July 19, 2018. She was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend, Dawood Al-Barwari, who was 55 years old. Al-Barwari had been stalking Saleb for over a year, waiting for her to return home before confronting and shooting her multiple times. The incident occurred at the Lincoln West Apartments in Lancaster County.
After the murder, Al-Barwari fled the scene in a red SUV but was found dead of an apparent
self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Walmart parking lot in Manheim Township the following morning. The police recovered a gun at the scene, which they believe was used in both the murder and the suicide. Al-Barwari and Saleb had been in a relationship between 2015 and 2016, but Saleb had moved without informing him of her new address.
The community was deeply shaken by the tragic event, and the police confirmed that Al-Barwari was the only person involved in Saleb's killing. Despite the ongoing investigation, authorities did not find any prior reports of stalking or protection from abuse orders against Al-Barwari. The case highlighted the prevalence of domestic violence and the importance of reporting such behavior to prevent further tragedies.
