Jeanne Durkin, a white woman, was
the fourth known victim in a series of killings that would later be attributed to a suspected serial killer dubbed the “Frankford Slasher.” Her murder bore striking similarities to earlier cases: all the victims were women, sexually assaulted, and stabbed multiple times. The brutality and pattern of the crimes led police to officially link Durkin’s death to three previous murders in the area, prompting the formation of a special task force.
