On April 10, 2018, Janice Erickson Wildnauer, a 58-year-old White female from Brockway, Pennsylvania, passed away in what was determined to be a tragic murder-suicide. A concerned relative discovered the bodies of Janice and her 68-year-old husband, James Wildnauer, at their David Lane residence after Janice had been absent from work for two consecutive days.
State police investigators concluded that James Wildnauer shot his wife before taking his own life.
The motive for the shootings remains under investigation. As the incident was identified as a murder-suicide with James Wildnauer as the perpetrator, no other suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in connection with Janice's death.
Janice was born on May 25, 1959, in DuBois, Pennsylvania. She was a dedicated employee at Sensus Corporation, now Xylem Corporation, for 29 years, where she held the position of senior manager. She was also an active member of her community, volunteering her time at the Mengle Memorial Library and St. Tobias Roman Catholic Church in Brockway. For the last decade of her life, she had also been a devoted caregiver for her parents.
