Vera Williams Butler, a 54-year-old woman from Pittsburgh, PA, tragically lost her life on July 28, 2018. She was found shot in the 200 block of Luray Street and died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. The investigation into her death led to the arrest of Calvin Stewart Alston, a 56-year-old Pittsburgh man, who was charged with homicide, firearms violations, and tampering with evidence. Alston was arraigned and placed in the Allegheny County Jail without bond.
