Ricardo Giddings, a 59-year-old man from Philadelphia, PA, died on August 6, 2018, after a tragic incident at his home in Germantown. The incident occurred when SWAT officers were serving a search warrant for Giddings' grandson, who was wanted for a weapons violation. Giddings, mistaking the officers for home intruders, fired at them, leading to a shootout. During the exchange, Giddings was shot by the officers and succumbed to his injuries.
