Akeem Mattox, a 28-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on November 19, 2018, in Southwest Philadelphia, PA. Mattox was one of four victims found executed-style in the basement of a home on Malcolm Street. The other victims included his half-brother, 31-year-old Maurice Taylor, 20-year-old Tiyaniah Hopkins, and 17-year-old Yaleah Hall. The victims were discovered with gunshot wounds to their heads, and it appeared they were led down to the basement before being shot.
The investigation revealed that Mattox and Taylor had discovered a stash of drugs while renovating the home. They attempted to sell the drugs, which led to a deadly confrontation. Police believe that the suspects, including Jahill Porter, Keith Garner, Robert Long, and Nasir Moss-Robertson, planned to rob the victims but the situation escalated into a quadruple murder.

Jahlil Porter was sentenced to at least 50 years in prison, while Keith Garner received a sentence of at least 40 years.
