In the early hours of a Tuesday in Philadelphia, a night out in Center City turned tragic for Brandon K. Edwards, a 34-year-old African-American man from the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. On June 17, 2008, after leaving a nightclub, Edwards was near 21st and Market Streets when he was shot multiple times in the back. The violence of the act shattered the early morning quiet, leaving a father of two fighting for his life on a city street.
