In the summer of 2019, a promising young man's life was tragically cut short on a street in South Philadelphia. Ammar Hassan, a 17-year-old Black male, was shot and killed on the evening of August 14, 2019. The incident occurred on the 2300 block of Bambrey Terrace, where police responded to a report of a male shot just before 7:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hassan on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
